Introductions

Every English teacher I have ever had said don't start writing with a "my name is____ and I'm going to tell you about ____", statement. For this I can't think of any other way to begin.

My name is Ashley, and this blog you are about to read is about my life as a teenage wife.

I am 18 years old and I will be getting married March 17th, 2012. We have been together for just over a year and a half. We have been through a lot together, including graduating from high school together a year ago.

We have been living together for a year, so I am already playing the wife role. Now that we have money together I am ready to make it official. Lots of people say I am too young, and to be honest, I couldn't care less. I have seen 40 year olds marry and divorce. I have also seen my parents marriage. My mom was 18 and they have now been together 24 years. It can work if you get the right people together.

Some of you may already know me. I have been a book reviewer since I was 13 years old. I ran a blog religiously up until 3 months ago. It was at that point that I realized I just don't have the time to read and review that I use to have. My life has gone a whole new direction. I can no longer read the 9 books a week that I have read every week for these 5 years.

Here are some fun little tidbits about me. When I was a sophomore in high school I received a call from a prominent publishing company. One of my contacts had recommended me for an internship! I was interviewed by HR and they apparently loved me. When they asked how soon I could be in New York, I responded with, "let me ask my mom." Apparently that clued them into the fact that I was too young. They told me to call them back when I graduated from high school.

Another fun review thing was when I was the YA interviewer at The West Hollywood Book Fair. I was lucky enough to interview Alexa Young, Jay Asher, and Allison Burnett. I was also able to meet Molly Ringwald!!!!

Now I am busy pulling the last few wedding details together and going to school. I am in a Dialysis Tech program at the local college. I will be done with that at the end of August. For now I work two retail jobs. I work at a nice children's store and in the jewelry department of a department store.

Can't wait to diverge into the world of being a wife. Thanks for joining me.
Ashley
